President Bill Haggerty called the meeting to order at 7:15 PM. There were 27 members and guests present. .
GUEST SPEAKER
President Haggerty announced that we would first hear from our guest speaker, Richard Castagna of NJDEP Tideland. Mr. Castagna made a very comprehensive presentation about the land rights that are held by the State of New Jersey with respect to tidelands, mean-high-tide, navigable water ways, wetlands, and legal riparian title to these lands. His presentation included visual slides and concluded with questions from the audience. After Castagna finished President Haggerty reconvened the business meeting.
MINUTES OF PRIOR MEETING
President Bill announced that the Minutes for the last meeting held on April 9, 2009, had been distributed to the membership and he asked if there were any corrections or additions. No corrections were offered so the minutes were moved, seconded, and approved as distributed.

NJSPLS BUSINESS
Lou Marchuk reported in detail about the May 12, 2009, NJSPLS meeting, which he attended as our representative.
SCHOLARSHIP COMMITTEE
The Scholarship Committee verbally reported that they are now receiving applications and they expect to be prepared to report to the July meeting of SAWJ.
OLD BUSINESS
President Bill reported that SAWJ has been authorized to directly file for education credits with the State Board. Certificates will be e-mailed to all attending tonight’s presentation by Richard Castagna.
Jack Donovan announced that he still has some SAWJ shirts and caps for sale. The set is $40. If interested call Jack at 856-627-3550.
NEW BUSINESS
Bill announced that our next meeting will be on Wednesday, June 10, 2009, 7PM at Carlucci’s Waterfront.
