MINUTES OF MEETING
Carlucci’s Waterfront
876 Centerton Road, Mount Laurel, NJ 08054

President Rick Sapio called the meeting to order at 7:00 PM. 10 members were present. Rick announced that we did not have a guest speaker tonight; however, we would have our normal business meeting.

MINUTES OF PRIOR MEETING
President Rick announced that the Minutes from the last Meeting, held on August 11, 2011, have been posted on our Web-Site for examination by all members. Were there any additions or corrections? Hearing none he announced the minutes were approved as posted.

TREASURER’S REPORT
Pete Burgess, Treasurer, was absent. No report available.

DIRECTOR’S REPORT- NJSPLS
It was reported that the NJSPLS next meeting is scheduled for September 13, 2011 and will be reported upon at our October business meeting.

SPECIAL JOINT MEETING WITH URISA
The upcoming Special Joint Meeting scheduled for September 21, 2011 was announced and discussed. All were encouraged to pass the information as published on our Web-Site to others within their organization. RSVP response is suggested. CEUs will be awarded, Two hour presentation. (5:30 PM, at Carlucci’s0

DINNER
The meeting was recessed in order to serve and enjoy the meal. After approximately 30 minutes for the dinner the meeting was reconvened by President Rick.

DISCUSSION
President Rick asked what we thought about payment to visiting speakers. Most comments were agreeable, and we certainly should pay travel expenses when appropriate. Our payment of dinner cost is not a question as we traditionally cover that item... No conclusion or motion was offered. More discussion will be available at a future meeting.

Jack Donovan spoke to a variety of problems that land-title-surveyors experience with regularity. He feels that if we in cooperation with the NJSPLS would get together and develop some guidelines we could make the business part of surveying more acceptable... After much discussion this Motion was made and approved by voice vote: “Jack Donovan is appointed Chairman with authority to recruit assistance from the membership. This committee shall prepare a “white-paper” that will set forth the problems and suggested actions. The paper shall request approval and endorsement of the NJSPLS. Approved by voice vote of the members present.

ANNOUNCEMENTS
The drawing for door prize was won by Al Ritchie who contributed it to the Duck Fund.

President Rick said that our next meeting will be on Thursday, October 13, 2011 at Carlucci’s.

At 8:30 PM. it was moved to adjourn the meeting; seconded, and approved by voice vote.
