MINUTES OF MEETING

President Rick Sapio called the meeting to order at 7:00 PM. 11 members were present

BUSINESS MEETING
President Rick announced that there was no guest speaker tonight. Therefore, he convened the Association for the business meeting.

MINUTES OF PRIOR MEETING
President Rick announced that the Minutes for the last meeting held on July 8, 2010 have not yet been posted on the web site for examination. Therefore, there was no approval, at this time, of the July Meeting Minutes.

TREASURER’S REPORT
Pete Burgess, Treasurer, was absent, therefore no report was available. President Rick said that he has a written report from Pete at his office. Rick said that he would place the financial report on our web site for all to examine.

NJSPLS DIRECTOR’S REPORT
Lou Marchuk and Fred Czepiga verbally reported on the recent NJSPLS meeting. When the written minutes are available, Lou will place them on our web-site for all to review...

OLD BUSINESS
NJPLS Scholarship Program was addressed. The discussion was tabled for more information, at a future meeting. .

NEW BUSINESS
In open discussion, it was commented that the downturned economy has put many surveyors out of work. What can we in SAWJ do to help our fellow surveyors through this poor economic time period?
One suggestion was to provide free attendance at continuing education courses. No vote was taken, or consensus reached, thus it remains a suggestion only, for future action.

ANNOUNCEMENTS
Lou Marchuk spoke about our next scheduled Meeting on Thursday, Sept. 9th. Dave Doyle of National Geodetic Survey is the featured speaker. This is the meeting not to miss. All surveyors are welcome and invited to this very special event. Mark this date on your calendar now and expect to hear more about this meeting. Lou is inviting all surveying associations within the state of New Jersey to attend. He expects to fill Carlucci’s Meeting Room. Arrive early.

Avi Decker won the drawing and contributed his winnings to the Scholarship Fund.
President Rick said that our next meeting will be on Thursday, Sept. 9, 2010 at Carlucci’s Waterfront,
876 Centerton Road, Mount Laurel, NJ.

At 8:15 PM. it was moved to adjourn the meeting; seconded, and approved by voice vote.
