MINUTES OF MEETING

President Rick Sapio called the meeting to order at 7:10 PM. 21 members and 1 guest were present.
GUEST SPEAKER
President Rick introduced Wendy Lathrop, PLS, CFM, our guest speaker. Her presentation was an in depth discussion of the newest requirements on the “Elevation Certificate Form”, for the “National Flood Insurance Program.”
Wendy discussed the important role that Surveyors play in the National Flood Insurance Program. She said that Surveyors provide important elevation information. The preparation of the Elevation Certificate is an important document which has been recently updated. She provided us each with a FEMA, “Elevation Certificate” and instructions document.
Her address covered the following four areas:
1. Highlighted changes made within the newest Elevation Certificate from that certificate which expired on 3/31/2010.
2. Identified the various uses of the Certificate and how these uses affect completion of the form.
3. Distinguished between LOMA and LOMR-F or LOMR applications.
4. Explained the choices between LOMA application processes: MT EZ, MT 1, e-LOMA.
Wendy closed with a number of interesting questions from a very appreciative audience.
President Sapio thanked her for a very interesting and informative presentation.
BUSINESS MEETING
At 9 PM President Rick Sapio re-convened the Association for the business meeting.
MINUTES OF PRIOR MEETING
President Rick announced that the Minutes for the last meeting held on April 8, 2010 have been posted on the web site for examination by everyone. They were moved, seconded, and approved as posted.
TREASURER’S REPORT
Pete Burgess, Treasurer, requested authorization to submit the May financial report next month. Moved, seconded, and approved by voice vote.
NJSPLS DIRECTOR’S REPORT
Lou Marchuk gave a verbal summary as well as his hand-written notes taken at the last meeting of the NJSPLS Board of Directors on May 10, 2010. When minutes of the meeting are available he will submit them for posting on our web-site.
OLD BUSINESS
Bill Haggerty reported that he has submitted information to the New Jersey State Board for approval and awarding of Continuing Education credit for our recent meetings. He also reported that he received notification by the State that Jan. course of financial investing and Feb. course “RESPA” was denied credit or no Pdh’s. He will provide updated information and certificates as received, at the June meeting.

ANNOUNCEMENTS
It was announced by President Rick that Angelo Caracciolo, retired from Taylor-Wiseman, residing recently in Stone Harbor, has died. Specifics, concerning his funeral service, were not available.
Lou Marchuk won tonight’s 50-50 drawing. He contributed his winnings to the Scholarship Fund.
President Rick said that our next meeting will be on Wednesday, June 9, 2010 at Carlucci’s Waterfront,
876 Centerton Road, Mount Laurel, NJ.
At 9:20 PM. it was moved to adjourn the meeting; seconded, and approved by voice vote.
