MINUTES OF MEETING
Carlucci’s Waterfront

President Rick Sapio called the meeting to order at 7:15 PM. 13 members present.
GUEST SPEAKER
President Rick introduced our own SAWJ member Lou Marchuk PE, PLS, who provided a presentation on “Grid to Ground Conversions, Scale Factors, Elevation Factors, Combined Factors Simplified for Every Day Use”.
Lou provided a very informative presentation regarding working with grid coordinates their relationship to ground coordinates including current project examples and provided extensive handout materials to all.
President Sapio thanked Lou for a very interesting and informative presentation.
BUSINESS MEETING
At 9 PM President Rick Sapio re-convened for the business meeting.
MINUTES OF PRIOR MEETING
President Rick announced that the Minutes for the last meeting held on March 10, 2010 have been posted on the web site for examination by everyone. They were moved, seconded, and approved as posted.
TREASURER’S REPORT
Pete Burgess provided the treasures. Report was approved as read.
NJSPLS DIRECTOR’S REPORT
No report.
OLD BUSINESS

NEW BUSINESS
Bruce Blair mentioned that The Hoboken Historical Museum is presenting an Exhibit of Hoboken’s Keuffel & Esser made instruments. More information can be found on the NJSPLS website http://www.njspls.org/
Members discussed the recent email that was circulated from Rob Ashley regarding the memorial fundraising event in honor of his son who was killed in an auto accident. The proceeds of this fundraiser will go to the scholarships we award each year, in his name, to students graduating from Cinnaminson High School and going on to college. A motion was made by Bill Haggerty for SAWJ to donate $250 and 2nd by Avi Luzon. This was unanimously passed.
It was confirmed that Wendy Lathrop will be our guest speaker for May.
President Rick said that our next meeting will be on Thursday, May13th, 2010 at Carlucci’s Waterfront,
876 Centerton Road, Mount Laurel, NJ.
At 9:45 PM. it was moved to adjourn the meeting; seconded, and approved by voice vote.
